Photo Gallery – Musicians

I begin with photos of my teachers. This collage is on the wall of my studio . . . to the left of my piano. These extraordinary people are with me each day.

Top Row (L to R):
* My composition teacher, Nadia Boulanger, outside the Jeu de Paume at the Palais de Fontainebleau in Fontainebleau, France.
* My composition teacher, Vincent Persichetti, and his wife Dorothea outside their home in Philadelphia. The sculpture in the background was created by Mr. Persichetti.
* Nadia Boulanger walking in the Palais de Fontainebleu with Soulima Stravinsky, the son of Igor Stravinsky.
* My organ teacher, André Marchal, in his Paris home.

Middle Row (L to R):
* My solfège teacher, Annette Dieudonné, at the Palais de Fontainebleau.
* My voice teacher, Ruth Lindstrom, and my piano and organ teacher, Arthur Lindstrom. Mr Lindstrom’s study at The Juilliard School inspired me to try and follow in his footsteps.
* Nadia Boulanger walking from the Jeu de Paume back to her apartment at the Palais de Fontainebleau.
* Vincent Persichetti at the bocce court outside his Philadelphia home.
* Nadia Boulanger and LAS at the Palais de Fontainebleau in 1975.

Bottom Row (L to R):
* My Ear Training teacher Renée Longy and LAS at her home on Cape Cod.
* André Marchal in the Jeu de Paume at the Palais de Fontainebleau.
* The sign in front of the Cape Cod home of Renée Longy – Longy Penguinage – where all things “penguin” were welcomed and celebrated!
* Renée Longy on Cape Cod.
* My organ teacher, Vernon de Tar, at the Church of the Ascension in New York City.

Photo #2 – The Performance

The World Premiere of my Symphony No. 4 (2016) took place in Colorado Springs, Colorado in April 2016 with Josep Caballé-Domenech conducting the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Despite the busy week, we managed to find time for a relaxing lunch with family and friends.

In November 2017, Trio Latitude 41 performed on the 2017-18 Richard P. Garmany Chamber Music Series at The Hartt School. This photo was taken after the performance of a program that featured music by composer Jonathan Berger.
